Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Antisense oligonucleotides against GSK3β (AS-GSK3β) are antisense morpholino-oligonucleotides designed to knock down the expression of glycogen synthase kinase 3 beta (GSK3β). In preclinical models, local intrapancreatic administration of AS-GSK3β has been shown to promote both endocrine (beta cell) and exocrine (acinar cell) pancreatic regeneration. This knockdown prevents GSK3β from negatively regulating the Wnt/β-catenin and PI3K/Akt pathways, suggesting potential therapeutic applications in diabetes and pancreatitis.
