Antispasmin

Antispasmin is a brand name for a line of antispasmodic medications developed and marketed by the Indian pharmaceutical company Stadmed. The most common formulation is a combination tablet containing **dicycloverine hydrochloride** (also known as dicyclomine) and **paracetamol** (acetaminophen). Dicycloverine is a tertiary amine that functions as a muscarinic receptor antagonist, providing relief from smooth muscle spasms in the gastrointestinal tract, biliary tract, and ureters. Paracetamol is included to provide analgesic effects for associated pain. Antispasmin is indicated for the treatment of functional bowel disorders, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and various forms of colic (biliary, renal, and intestinal). It is also available in other dosage forms, including injections and syrups, which typically contain dicycloverine as the sole active ingredient.
