Overview
Antispike is an egg-derived polyclonal antibody (IgY) product developed by UNITEHPROM (a division of Belarusian State University) for the prevention and auxiliary management of COVID-19. The product is generated by immunizing hens with the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, which induces the production of specific antibodies that are subsequently extracted and concentrated from the egg yolks. These IgY antibodies are designed to bind to the spike protein of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, neutralizing its ability to interact with human ACE2 receptors and thereby inhibiting viral entry into host cells. In Belarus, Antispike has been commercialized as a specialized food product or biologically active additive (supplement) intended to provide passive mucosal immunity and support the immune system against coronavirus infection.
