Anti-human T lymphocyte porcine immunoglobulin is a polyclonal antibody preparation developed and manufactured by the Wuhan Institute of Biological Products. It is produced by purifying the immunoglobulin fraction from the serum of pigs that have been immunized with human T lymphocytes. The drug functions as a potent immunosuppressant by targeting and depleting human T lymphocytes through several mechanisms, including complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC), antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), and the induction of apoptosis. It is primarily indicated for the prevention and treatment of acute rejection in organ transplantation (such as kidney, liver, and heart) and for the treatment of severe aplastic anemia. By reducing the number of circulating T cells, it helps prevent the immune system from attacking transplanted organs or the bone marrow.
