Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Antiwei Granules Placebo is a pharmacologically inactive control substance used in clinical trials to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Antiwei Granules, a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by Tasly Pharmaceutical Group for the treatment of the common cold (specifically wind-cold syndrome). The placebo is formulated to be visually and organoleptically indistinguishable from the active herbal granules, typically composed of starch and bittering agents to maintain the blinding of randomized, double-blind studies. It is currently utilized as a comparator in Phase 3 clinical evaluations (such as NCT06697886) to establish the therapeutic profile of the active TCM formulation in adult populations aged 18-65.
