Overview

Anusol is a medication used for the symptomatic relief of hemorrhoids and other anorectal conditions such as pruritus ani, proctitis, and anal fissures. The standard Anusol formulation contains zinc oxide, bismuth subgallate, balsam peru, and bismuth oxide. Anusol-HC is a variant that contains hydrocortisone acetate, a corticosteroid that helps reduce inflammation. Anusol provides antiseptic, astringent, and emollient properties to relieve discomfort associated with minor anorectal conditions.
