Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Anuzol-Farmaprim is a topical combination medication formulated as rectal suppositories for the symptomatic treatment of hemorrhoids, anal fissures, and other inflammatory anorectal conditions. Developed by the Moldovan generic pharmaceutical manufacturer Farmaprim, the product contains three active ingredients: xeroform (bismuth tribromophenate), zinc sulfate heptahydrate, and dry belladonna leaf extract. Xeroform and zinc sulfate act as local astringents, antiseptics, and anti-inflammatory agents by precipitating proteins on the mucosal surface to form a protective barrier, reducing secretions and promoting tissue healing. Belladonna leaf extract contains anticholinergic alkaloids (such as atropine, hyoscyamine, and scopolamine) that act as muscarinic acetylcholine receptor antagonists, providing spasmolytic and analgesic effects by relaxing the smooth muscle of the gastrointestinal tract and reducing pain and discomfort.
