Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Anweitai (安维泰) is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody biosimilar of tocilizumab, developed and marketed by Livzon Pharmaceutical Factory. It targets the interleukin-6 receptor (IL-6R), binding to both its soluble and membrane-bound forms to inhibit IL-6-mediated pro-inflammatory signaling. This blockade prevents the activation of downstream pathways involved in the pathogenesis of various inflammatory and autoimmune conditions. Anweitai is approved in China for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, cytokine release syndrome (CRS), and systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis (sJIA). It is formulated as an injection for intravenous or subcutaneous administration.
