ANX105

ANX105 is a next-generation, full-length monoclonal antibody developed by Annexon. It targets complement component C1q and is administered via intravenous infusion. The drug has been engineered to have improved dosing properties compared to earlier candidates such as ANX005. By binding to C1q, ANX105 inhibits the initiation of the classical complement cascade, which plays a role in both innate immunity and neurodegenerative processes. Aberrant activation of C1q can lead to synaptic loss and neurodegeneration in diseases like Alzheimer's disease and other chronic autoimmune or neurodegenerative disorders. As of 2023, ANX105 is being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK), and pharmacodynamics (PD) in healthy volunteers[1][2][5][7].
