ANXA2 siRNA is a research-grade small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of the ANXA2 gene, which encodes the Annexin A2 protein. Annexin A2 is a calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding protein involved in various cellular processes, including endocytosis, exocytosis, and cell-matrix interactions. In oncological research, ANXA2 is often overexpressed and associated with tumor progression, migration, and invasion. The siRNA works through the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, where it is incorporated into the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC) to guide the sequence-specific cleavage and degradation of ANXA2 mRNA, thereby preventing the translation of the Annexin A2 protein. It is primarily utilized as a laboratory tool for in vitro and in vivo preclinical studies across various cancers and fibrotic conditions.
