Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Anyu Peibo is a capsule formulation developed as an investigational antidepressant for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD). It contains active components such as 5′-methoxyl-3′,4′-methylenedioxy cinnamic acid-pyrrolidine, 4,5-dihydro piperlonguminine, and piperamide. Some of these alkaloids have demonstrated potential antidepressant effects in preclinical studies. The drug has been evaluated in randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials for efficacy and safety in adults with MDD. Results from phase IIb trials suggest that Anyu Peibo may be more effective than placebo in reducing depressive symptoms and is generally well tolerated[3][4][6].
