Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Anzy (also marketed as Anzy-HS) is an approved oral combination therapy developed and marketed by Thrift Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of indigestion, bloating, flatulence, and pancreatic insufficiency. The formulation combines pancreatin, bile constituents, and activated dimethicone to support comprehensive digestive function. Pancreatin supplies key pancreatic enzymes—lipase, amylase, and protease—to break down dietary fats, starches, and proteins into absorbable nutrients. Bile constituents assist in the emulsification and absorption of lipids, while activated dimethicone acts physically as a surfactant to reduce the surface tension of gastrointestinal gas bubbles, facilitating their coalescence and expulsion to relieve abdominal discomfort.
