Overview

AOB203 (also known as B244) is a first-in-class, live biotherapeutic product consisting of a single strain of beneficial Ammonia Oxidizing Bacteria (AOB), specifically *Nitrosomonas eutropha* strain D23. Developed by AOBiome, AOB203 is formulated as an intranasal spray or topical mist. Once administered, the bacteria metabolize naturally occurring ammonia in sweat and secretions to produce nitric oxide (NO) and nitrite, which act as signaling molecules to regulate inflammation and vasodilation. AOB203 is being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials for the preventive treatment of episodic migraine and seasonal allergic rhinitis, and is in Phase 3 development for atopic dermatitis and associated pruritus.
