Overview

AOD113408 is a long-acting triple agonist targeting the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor, glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptor, and glucagon receptor (GCGR). Developed by Chengdu Aoda Biotechnology, the agent is being investigated for the treatment of obesity, overweight, and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). By integrating the metabolic benefits of GLP-1 (appetite suppression and glucose control), GIP (improved lipid metabolism and insulin sensitivity), and glucagon (increased energy expenditure), AOD113408 aims to provide enhanced efficacy in weight reduction and liver fat clearance compared to single or dual agonists. It is administered via subcutaneous injection and is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation in healthy and overweight/obese subjects, including those with weight-related comorbidities.
