Overview

Aomekexong sodium is a selective relaxant binding agent (SRBA) developed by Zhejiang Xianju Pharmaceutical for the reversal of neuromuscular blockade. It is a modified cyclodextrin derivative designed to encapsulate aminosteroid non-depolarizing neuromuscular blocking agents, such as rocuronium and vecuronium, in the plasma. By forming a stable guest-host complex, aomekexong sodium rapidly reduces the concentration of the blocking agent available to bind at the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the neuromuscular junction, thereby facilitating the rapid recovery of muscle function. As a Class 1.1 innovative drug in China, it aims to provide a rapid and predictable reversal of both moderate and deep neuromuscular block, similar to the mechanism of sugammadex.
