AP-300

AP-300 (Fasaret) is an immunotherapeutic gene therapy developed by ApopLogic Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of various solid tumors, including carcinomas, sarcomas, and lymphomas. The therapy utilizes a recombinant viral or DNA vector to deliver the gene encoding Fas ligand (FasL). Upon expression, the Fas ligand specifically targets and engages the Fas receptor (FasR) on activated tumor-infiltrating immune cells, particularly immunosuppressive T-regulatory cells (Tregs). This engagement induces apoptosis in the target cells, thereby modulating the tumor microenvironment to favor an anti-tumor immune response. AP-300 has demonstrated efficacy in veterinary clinical trials for canine osteosarcoma and oral melanoma, where it is seeking conditional USDA approval, while human development remains in the preclinical stage.
