ap-pa01

BioPhage-PR, also known as AP-PA01, was a bacteriophage-based therapeutic developed by AmpliPhi Biosciences (now Armata Pharmaceuticals) for the treatment of lung infections caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa. [3, 4] It was being developed specifically for patients with cystic fibrosis and ventilator-associated pneumonia. [2, 3] As a phage therapy, it utilizes a cocktail of bacteriophages, which are viruses that specifically target and destroy bacteria. [2] The program was in preclinical development in the early 2010s and was eventually discontinued after Phase 1 trials under the code AP-PA01. [4, 6, 10] The program has since been superseded by a next-generation candidate, AP-PA02, from Armata Pharmaceuticals. [8]
