AP-PA02 is an investigational therapeutic bacteriophage cocktail being developed by Armata Pharmaceuticals. [3] It is composed of multiple natural bacteriophages that specifically target and kill Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a bacterium that causes difficult-to-treat infections, including antibiotic-resistant strains. [3, 6, 15] AP-PA02 is administered via inhalation using a nebulizer and is being evaluated for the treatment of chronic pulmonary P. aeruginosa infections in patients with non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis (NCFB) and cystic fibrosis (CF). [2, 3, 5, 6] The therapy is designed to deliver high concentrations of phages directly to the lungs with minimal systemic exposure. [6, 12]
