Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Apabetalone + dapagliflozin is a combination of two small molecule drugs: apabetalone, a selective bromodomain and extraterminal domain (BET) inhibitor targeting bromodomain 2 (BD2) and modulating gene expression to impact inflammation and other processes involved in cardiovascular disease; and dapagliflozin, a sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitor that lowers blood glucose by preventing renal glucose reabsorption. The combination is under clinical investigation primarily for reducing major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) and heart failure in patients with type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease, based on evidence of synergistic cardioprotective effects compared to either agent alone[1][3][5][7].
