Overview
Apadenoson is a selective adenosine A2A receptor agonist. It is a small molecule drug developed for its anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties, primarily investigated in preclinical and early clinical studies for conditions such as ischemia-reperfusion injury, inflammation, and potentially other diseases where modulation of the adenosine A2A receptor may be beneficial. Apadenoson acts by binding to the adenosine A2A receptor, leading to increased intracellular cAMP levels and subsequent downstream effects that suppress inflammatory responses.
