Apalolithovolrelimab (eparlitozoviril) is an experimental dual immune checkpoint inhibitor designed to simultaneously target programmed death-1 (PD-1) and cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated antigen-4 (CTLA-4). It is currently being investigated in a Phase II clinical trial as an adjuvant therapy for patients with resectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) who exhibit microvascular invasion (MVI), a high-risk factor for postoperative recurrence. By blocking both PD-1 and CTLA-4 pathways, the drug aims to restore and enhance the anti-tumor activity of T cells, potentially reducing the risk of recurrence and improving long-term survival in HCC patients following surgical resection. The drug is administered via intravenous infusion at a dose of 7.5 mg/kg every three weeks.
