This combination therapy is a multi-modal regimen being investigated for the first-line treatment of extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC). It consists of **apatinib**, a small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor that selectively targets vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR-2) to inhibit tumor angiogenesis; **adebrelimab**, a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) to restore anti-tumor immune responses; and the **EC regimen**, which comprises the cytotoxic chemotherapy agents **etoposide** (a topoisomerase II inhibitor) and **carboplatin** (a platinum-based DNA alkylating agent). The rationale for this combination is to leverage the synergistic effects of anti-angiogenic therapy, immune checkpoint inhibition, and standard-of-care chemotherapy to overcome the aggressive nature and poor prognosis associated with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer.
