Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Apatinib + capecitabine + oxaliplatin is a combination regimen used primarily as neoadjuvant therapy for patients with locally advanced gastric cancer, gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) adenocarcinoma, and colorectal cancer. Apatinib is an oral small-molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor that selectively targets vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR-2), inhibiting tumor angiogenesis. Capecitabine is an oral prodrug of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), which interferes with DNA synthesis in rapidly dividing cells. Oxaliplatin is a platinum-based chemotherapeutic agent that causes DNA crosslinking and apoptosis in cancer cells. The combination has shown promising efficacy and manageable safety profiles in clinical studies for these indications[1][2].
