A combination therapy regimen consisting of apatinib (Rivoceranib) and single-agent chemotherapy (either irinotecan or docetaxel) investigated for the treatment of advanced small cell lung cancer (SCLC). Apatinib is a small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor that selectively targets vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2), thereby inhibiting angiogenesis. Irinotecan and docetaxel are cytotoxic agents that inhibit topoisomerase I and stabilize microtubules, respectively. This regimen was evaluated in a Phase II clinical trial (NCT03547804) led by The First Hospital of Jilin University as a second-line or later treatment for patients who failed platinum-based chemotherapy, showing promising efficacy in progression-free and overall survival.
