Apatinib + docetaxel + zoledronic acid is a combination regimen of three drugs used in oncology, particularly for advanced or metastatic cancers. Apatinib is a small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor that selectively inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR-2), thereby blocking angiogenesis and tumor blood supply. Docetaxel is a cytotoxic taxane chemotherapeutic agent that promotes microtubule assembly and inhibits their disassembly, leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in cancer cells. Zoledronic acid is a bisphosphonate that inhibits osteoclast-mediated bone resorption, reducing skeletal-related events in patients with bone metastases and lowering hypercalcemia of malignancy. This combination has been investigated for synergistic effects in various solid tumors such as gastric cancer, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and prostate cancer—especially where bone metastases are present[4][5][9][2]. The regimen aims to target tumor proliferation (docetaxel), angiogenesis (apatinib), and skeletal complications from metastasis (zoledronic acid).
