Overview

Apatinib + tislelizumab is an investigational combination therapy consisting of two agents: - Apatinib, a small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor that selectively inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2), thereby blocking angiogenesis and tumor blood supply. - Tislelizumab, a humanized IgG4 monoclonal antibody targeting programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1), functioning as an immune checkpoint inhibitor to enhance anti-tumor immune responses. This combination is being studied for the treatment of various advanced cancers, including renal cell carcinoma and gastric cancer. The rationale for combining these agents is to leverage both antiangiogenic effects (apatinib) and immunomodulatory activity (tislelizumab) to improve clinical outcomes in patients with advanced malignancies[1][2][3][4][5][6].
