Drug intelligence / Profile preview
APB-A101 is a monoclonal antibody being developed by APITBIO for the treatment of Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) infection. It specifically targets the preS1 region of the HBV large surface protein. The preS1 region is critical for the virus's attachment to the sodium taurocholate cotransporting polypeptide (NTCP) receptor on hepatocytes. By binding to preS1, APB-A101 is designed to neutralize the virus and block its entry into liver cells, potentially reducing viral load and preventing the spread of infection. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development, specifically in the discovery and cell line development phase.
