Overview

APB-I-005 is a preclinical-stage bispecific monoclonal antibody developed by Aprilbio for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). It is designed to simultaneously target and neutralize two key pro-inflammatory cytokines: tumor necrosis factor-like ligand 1A (TL1A) and interleukin-23 (IL-23). TL1A is associated with intestinal fibrosis and inflammation, while IL-23 is a well-validated driver of the Th17 inflammatory response in the gut. The molecule utilizes Aprilbio's proprietary SAFA (Serum Albumin Fragment Associated) platform, which incorporates an albumin-binding domain to extend the drug's half-life and potentially improve its safety and efficacy profile compared to conventional monoclonal antibodies.
