Overview

APC-300 is a preclinical small molecule drug candidate intended for the treatment of prostate cancer, particularly castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC). It was part of a portfolio of androgen receptor (AR) targeted compounds, including APC-100 and APC-200, originally discovered at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and licensed via the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF). Colby Pharmaceutical Company initially licensed the compounds before sub-licensing the exclusive rights to Adamis Pharmaceuticals in 2010. The mechanism of action involves the inhibition of the androgen receptor and potentially incorporates antioxidant properties to combat hormone-refractory disease. While its sibling compound APC-100 entered clinical trials, APC-300 remained in the preclinical stage of development following its acquisition by Adamis.
