APC101

APC101 is a topical small molecule analgesic developed by Andros Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of postherpetic neuralgia (PHN). It acts by modulating the transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) receptor, also known as the capsaicin receptor, which plays a central role in the transmission and modulation of pain signals. The drug is delivered using a proprietary polymer-based, fast-drying, film-forming technology administered via a meter-dosed spray. This formulation is designed to enhance skin permeation while minimizing irritation by forming a thin film on the skin's surface. APC101 has completed Phase I and Phase IIa clinical trials, positioning it as a localized therapeutic option for neuropathic pain associated with shingles.
