APC247

APC247 is a small molecule, broad-spectrum beta-lactamase inhibitor developed by AdjuTec Pharma. Its primary mechanism of action is the inhibition of bacterial beta-lactamase enzymes, which are responsible for conferring resistance to beta-lactam antibiotics in Gram-negative bacteria. By inhibiting these enzymes, APC247 restores the efficacy of beta-lactam antibiotics against resistant bacterial strains. The drug is intended as an adjuvant therapy to be used in combination with last-resort antibiotics for the treatment of serious Gram-negative bacterial infections. As of May 2025, APC247 remains in preclinical development[1][9].
