Overview

**APC301** is an investigational triple small-molecule antibacterial combination developed by AdjuTec Pharma for complicated infections caused by multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria, particularly multidrug-resistant Enterobacterales. It combines the carbapenem antibiotic meropenem with APC148, a selective zinc-chelating metallo-beta-lactamase inhibitor, and avibactam, a serine beta-lactamase inhibitor. The regimen is designed to overcome co-existing metallo-beta-lactamase and serine beta-lactamase resistance mechanisms, thereby restoring meropenem activity against organisms that would otherwise hydrolyze beta-lactam antibiotics. Sponsor-reported in-vitro and in-vivo studies have shown activity against metallo-beta-lactamase- and serine beta-lactamase-producing Enterobacterales.
