Apetryl

Apetryl is a brand name for clonazepam, a benzodiazepine derivative developed and marketed by APEX Pharma. It acts as a positive allosteric modulator of the GABA-A receptor at the benzodiazepine binding site. By enhancing GABAergic neurotransmission, it facilitates the opening of GABA-mediated chloride channels, leading to increased inhibitory activity and reduced neuronal firing. Apetryl is primarily indicated for the treatment of various seizure disorders, including epilepsy (focal, absence, tonic-clonic, and myoclonic seizures), as well as panic disorder and anxiety disorders. It is available as an oral film-coated tablet in 0.5 mg and 2 mg strengths.
