APG-157 + bevacizumab is a combination therapy currently under investigation for the treatment of recurrent high-grade glioma, including glioblastoma. APG-157 is an orally administered, botanical-derived agent based on polyphenols from Curcuma longa (turmeric), designed to induce selective apoptosis in tumor cells and modulate the tumor immune microenvironment, including reprogramming microglia toward a tumoricidal state. Bevacizumab is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody targeting vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), inhibiting angiogenesis. This combination is hypothesized to overcome resistance to bevacizumab monotherapy and provide synergistic anti-tumor effects through both cytotoxic, immune modulatory, and anti-angiogenic mechanisms. The combination is being studied by Aveta Biomics, particularly in the context of recurrent high-grade glioma, with early-stage trials also targeting other solid tumors with similar biology[1][4][5][6][8].
