APG 9mer (sequence: APGSTAPPA) is a 9-amino acid peptide derived from the tandem repeat domain of the Mucin 1 (MUC1) glycoprotein, a well-characterized tumor-associated antigen overexpressed in various adenocarcinomas. The peptide is designed as a cancer vaccine component that acts as a cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (CTL) epitope. It is specifically restricted by the HLA-A*0201 major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecule. Upon administration, the peptide is presented by antigen-presenting cells to stimulate a specific immune response against MUC1-expressing cancer cells, such as those found in breast, lung, and pancreatic cancers. While often used in research and early-phase clinical trials as a standalone peptide or as part of multi-epitope vaccine strategies, it represents a foundational element in the development of MUC1-targeted immunotherapies.
