Overview

APH-1501 is a novel cannabinoid-based nanotherapy developed by Aphios Corporation for the treatment of opioid use disorder (OUD) and opioid dependence. The drug is a combination product consisting of pharmaceutical-grade cannabidiol (CBD) encapsulated in biodegradable polymer nanospheres and low-dose naltrexone. Utilizing Aphios' proprietary SFS-PNS nanotechnology platform, the formulation is designed for sustained release to improve bioavailability, enhance CNS targeting, and maintain therapeutic levels in the body while minimizing side effects compared to conventional cannabinoid therapies. APH-1501 targets the endocannabinoid and opioid systems to reduce drug-seeking behavior and cravings in patients who have undergone detoxification.
