Drug intelligence / Profile preview
APH-1502 is a nanoparticle formulation of cannabidiol (CBD) being developed by Aphios Pharma for the treatment of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathic pain (CIPNP). The drug utilizes Aphios' patented SuperFluids Polymer Nanospheres (SFS-PNS) technology to encapsulate CBD in biodegradable polymer nanoparticles, which is designed to enhance bioavailability and provide extended-release properties. APH-1502 targets the CB1 and CB2 cannabinoid receptors to modulate pain signaling, offering a potential non-opioid alternative for managing neuropathic pain with improved control and reduced systemic side effects. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development as part of a pipeline of extended-release cannabinoid nanotherapies.
