Drug intelligence / Profile preview
APH-1505 is an oral, extended-release nanoformulation of cannabidiol (CBD) being developed by Aphios Corporation (through its subsidiary Aphios Pharma) for the treatment of refractory epilepsy. The drug utilizes Aphios' proprietary SFS-PNS™ platform to encapsulate CBD within biodegradable polymer nanoparticles, which is intended to provide sustained release, enhance bioavailability, and improve the side-effect profile compared to conventional CBD treatments. APH-1505 targets the endocannabinoid system, specifically the CB1 and CB2 receptors, to modulate neuronal activity and reduce seizure frequency in patients with drug-resistant forms of epilepsy.
