APH01727 is an oral GLP-1 receptor agonist being developed by Guangzhou Yipinhong Pharmaceutical (also known as Eden-Pharma) for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus and weight management. It is designed to mimic the physiological effects of the incretin hormone GLP-1, which includes enhancing glucose-dependent insulin secretion, reducing glucagon levels, and promoting satiety. The drug is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical trials in China to evaluate its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic profile in healthy volunteers, including assessments of food effects on absorption.
