Overview

Apiclof is a small molecule nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) formulated as 0.1% diclofenac sodium ophthalmic eye drops. Developed and marketed by Amman Pharmaceutical Industries, it functions by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, which are responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins that mediate pain and inflammation. The product is primarily indicated for the management of ocular pain and inflammation, specifically for injuries resulting from industrial welding (glare and burns), as well as for the reduction of post-operative inflammation following ophthalmic surgical procedures.
