Apigenin is a naturally occurring flavonoid (specifically a flavone) found in many plants such as chamomile, parsley, celery, and others. It is known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Preclinical studies suggest that apigenin may reduce anxiety by modulating GABA receptors in the brain and may support healthy aging by inhibiting CD38 to preserve NAD+ levels important for DNA repair and metabolism.
