Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Apizolin-Z is an over-the-counter ophthalmic solution developed by Amman Pharmaceutical Industries (under the Apisal line) for the temporary relief of eye redness, swelling, and minor irritations caused by environmental factors such as dust, wind, smoke, swimming, or prolonged visual work. It is a fixed-dose combination containing naphazoline hydrochloride, a rapid-acting sympathomimetic vasoconstrictor, and zinc sulfate, a mild astringent. Naphazoline stimulates alpha-adrenergic receptors on conjunctival blood vessels, causing vasoconstriction and reducing congestion, while zinc sulfate precipitates proteins on the ocular surface to clear mucus and soothe irritation.
