Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The APJ agonist nanobody is a single-domain antibody (nanobody) biologic developed by JiKang Therapeutics and BioAge Labs. It targets the apelin receptor (APJ), a G protein-coupled receptor involved in metabolic regulation, cardiovascular function, and muscle maintenance. The nanobody is designed to be a long-acting injectable and is significantly more potent than the natural ligand apelin, with an EC50 comparable to best-in-class small molecule agonists. It is currently being advanced toward IND-enabling studies for the treatment of obesity and other metabolic diseases, with an Investigational New Drug (IND) filing expected in 2026.
