APL-4098 is a highly selective and potent small molecule inhibitor of GCN2 (General Control Nonderepressible 2), currently under clinical development by Apollo Therapeutics for the treatment of relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia (AML), myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), and myelodysplastic syndrome with excess blasts (MDS-EB). It is administered orally, either as monotherapy or in combination with azacitidine. The drug is being evaluated in Phase 1/2 clinical trials to determine its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and antitumor activity. APL-4098 represents a novel therapeutic approach targeting liquid tumors through inhibition of the GCN2 kinase pathway[1][4][5].
