Overview

Aplitabart is a recombinant pentameric immunoglobulin M (IgM) monoclonal antibody that acts as an agonist of human death receptor type 5 (DR5), also known as tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand receptor 2 (TRAILR2). By binding to DR5, aplitabart activates pro-apoptotic signaling pathways in cancer cells, leading to cell death. It was developed primarily for the treatment of solid and hematologic malignancies including colorectal cancer and various lymphomas. The drug was initially developed by IGM Biosciences and reached phase 1 clinical trials before development was discontinued[1][3][8].
