Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Aplosyn Otic is a combination otic solution developed and distributed by ADP Pharma Corporation and manufactured by Pascual Laboratories in the Philippines. It contains three active ingredients: fluocinolone acetonide (a corticosteroid), neomycin sulfate (an aminoglycoside antibiotic), and polymyxin B sulfate (a polypeptide antibiotic). The product is indicated for the treatment of acute or chronic otitis externa, with or without associated otitis media, caused by susceptible organisms. It is also used as adjunctive therapy for various dermatoses of the external ear, including atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, and psoriasis vulgaris. The corticosteroid component provides anti-inflammatory and anti-pruritic effects, while the antibiotics provide broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against common ear pathogens.
