Drug intelligence / Profile preview
APM-176 is a phase 2 ready small molecule drug developed by Ariel Precision Medicine. It is positioned to be the first treatment for pancreatitis, a disease with significant unmet medical need and currently no approved therapeutics. APM-176 belongs to a class of compounds that target defective proteins implicated in pancreatitis and related pancreatic disorders. Mechanistically, it acts as a potentiator of the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) protein, enhancing the function of both mutated and wild-type CFTR. This mechanism makes it relevant for CFTR-mediated chronic conditions such as chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS), pancreatitis, bronchiectasis, and biliary diseases[1][3][10].
