Overview

APN431 is a preclinical-stage small molecule inhibitor of the E3 ubiquitin ligase Cbl-b (Casitas B-lineage lymphoma proto-oncogene b), originally developed by Apeiron Biologics. Cbl-b serves as a critical intracellular checkpoint that negatively regulates the activation and effector functions of T cells and NK cells. By inhibiting Cbl-b, APN431 is designed to enhance the immune system's ability to recognize and eliminate tumor cells, potentially overcoming the immunosuppressive environment often found in various solid tumors. Following a strategic reorganization, Apeiron's early-stage immuno-oncology programs, including its Cbl-b inhibitors, were transitioned to the spin-off company invIOs.
