APOBEC 3A inhibitor is a preclinical-stage small molecule inhibitor developed by Apobec Discovery. It is designed to selectively target and inhibit the DNA dC->dU-editing enzyme APOBEC-3A (APOBEC3A), a cytidine deaminase that converts cytosine to uracil in single-stranded DNA. Dysregulation and overexpression of APOBEC3A drive somatic mutagenesis, tumor evolution, and treatment resistance in various cancers. By blocking APOBEC3A activity, this therapeutic candidate aims to limit cancer-driving mutational activity and prevent the development of drug resistance in oncology indications.
