Drug intelligence / Profile preview
APOHEALTH Haemorrhoid Ointment is a topical and rectal combination medication formulated for the fast and soothing relief of discomfort associated with haemorrhoids and anal fissures. It contains two active ingredients: hydrocortisone, a mild corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, swelling, and itching, and cinchocaine hydrochloride (also known as dibucaine), a potent local anaesthetic that numbs pain and relieves discomfort by blocking voltage-gated sodium channels in nerve membranes. Developed as a generic alternative to Proctosedyl Ointment, it is distributed in Australia by Arrotex Pharmaceuticals.
